Calhoun Release Mugshot Records
A booking photograph is created during an arrest or jail intake. It depicts the person at that event. The photo remains tied to that episode even after a bond release, sentence completion, dismissal, transfer, or later court disposition. Florida public-record principles can permit access to a booking image, but they do not make every image and field public in every case. Sealed or expunged matters, juvenile information, protected victim details, and other statutory exemptions can limit access.
Calhoun County has two major photo systems. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office holds county booking images. The Florida Department of Corrections holds state offender photographs for people in its records. An FDC portrait is not necessarily the Calhoun County booking photograph. A person booked locally and released on bond without entering state custody may have no FDC image at all.
Release must be verified separately. The live Jail Log is current-custody oriented and drops records from ordinary view after custody changes. The Clerk docket can explain bond, sentence, dismissal, or another legal event, while the CCSO release transaction records the physical exit or transfer. A photograph alone answers none of those questions.
Calhoun Release Photo Channels
Each channel has a narrow scope. Start with the source tied to the custody episode. Official sources should carry more weight than copied images because they preserve agency, date, identifier, and record context.

No official CCSO jail mobile application advertising release photos was identified. The sheriff’s site links a responsive web roster, Facebook, Alert Calhoun, Florida Offender Alert, and other services, but none should be relabeled as a mugshot or recent-release app.
Calhoun Jail Mugshot Limits
Calhoun’s Kologik setting leaves public roster photos enabled. A current card can show the name, jail identifier, booking and arrest time, photograph, physical descriptors, arresting agency, charge, bond information, days in jail, and sometimes projected-release data. The image should be labeled with CCSO as the source and the booking date. An arresting agency such as Blountstown Police Department can appear while CCSO remains the jail custodian.
The county history selector was disabled during research. No labeled 24-hour or 72-hour released-photo view was found. A name disappearing from the Jail Log does not establish release to the community. It may reflect transfer, data correction, hospitalization, or another custody change. The capture documents a current-oriented interface and photo field, not an archive of people released from the jail.
The separate Booking Media Report is also a booking product. It may help identify an episode and image, but it cannot be titled or interpreted as released-inmate proof. For recent custody checks, the Calhoun jail releases page explains why the county has no published 24-hour release feed.
Note: Save the CCN, booking date, and case number because those identifiers make a later official photo request far more precise.
Request a Calhoun Booking Photo
A focused chapter 119 request is the best official fallback after a live card disappears. Ask for an existing image tied to one booking, not every photograph associated with a name. This reduces the chance of mixing two arrests or two people and helps the custodian locate the source file.
- Gather the full name, known alias, date of birth if known, CCN or booking number, and approximate booking date.
- Ask for the booking photograph from that specific episode in its original electronic format. Request available source metadata only when needed.
- Send the request to the CCSO public-record custodian at publicrecords@calhouncountyflsheriff.gov or call 850-674-5049 for current delivery instructions.
- If material is withheld, ask for the statutory basis and the nonexempt remainder. Do not ask the agency to create a new explanation or combined database.
- Request a cost estimate before extensive work. Electronic delivery may avoid some copying, but actual or special-service charges can apply.
CCSO lists its jail and mailing location as 20776 Central Avenue East, Blountstown, FL 32424-2276. Call before sending or visiting because the public-record page contains an apparent stray address reference that should not be relied upon. This custodian path is more durable than a live roster card and preserves the booking episode tied to the requested image.
Under section 119.07, ordinary paper copies can carry statutory per-page charges, and a reasonable special-service charge can apply to extensive information-technology or labor use. CCSO did not publish a separate flat photo fee or guaranteed turnaround in the reviewed material. Narrow the request and ask for an estimate.
Calhoun State Release Photos
For a person who served a Florida prison sentence, use the FDC Inmate Release Information Search. The dedicated search covers state inmates already released or scheduled for release and includes photographs where available. FDC reports nightly updates for release information. Search by the six-character DC number when known, or by name with identity and sentence details.
An FDC detail can show a photograph, DC number, committed name, aliases, identifying information, custody classification, Current Release Date, sentence history, detainers, and incarceration history. The photo is an FDC identification image. It should not be described as the Calhoun County Jail booking image unless the official source proves that origin.

The statewide route follows FDC records across institutions, so searching only Calhoun Correctional Institution would miss people moved elsewhere.
Florida Statute section 944.605 also requires a digitized photograph before anticipated FDC release. That state release photograph is separate from the image created during a county booking. For an official FDC copy or clarification, use FDC Public Records with the DC number and requested record date.
Calhoun Registry and News Photos
Two official FDLE registries can show photographs for limited legal groups. The Sexual Offender and Predator Search covers people required to register and may show designation, status, identifying details, qualifying offense, and registered address. The Career Offender Registry covers qualifying career-offender categories and can show thumbnails. Neither is a general list of people released from Calhoun County Jail.
Local news and official agency social posts can preserve an agency-supplied image after a live roster card changes. The Calhoun-Liberty Journal keeps date-organized arrest reporting, and WJHG publishes a Calhoun County news page. Such material is an event-discovery source. Confirm attribution, date, corrections, and later court disposition before relying on it. A news image does not prove a release date.
Commercial photo archives may also surface in search results. They can be stale, merge identities, omit the court result, or use old images without context. No commercial mugshot publisher or data broker is linked here. Use the image only as a lead to identify the official CCSO, FDC, FDLE, or court record.
Calhoun County Photo Source Differences
Calhoun has a distinctive photo-source split. The current Jail Log exposes a county booking image while the card remains available. FDC keeps a separate state photograph, and Florida law calls for a digitized image before an anticipated state release. These images can depict the same person at different times and for different legal records.
Once the county card drops off, the reliable step is to request the county photograph by CCN and booking date. Substituting an FDC portrait changes the source and episode. The request should preserve source, booking date, and record number. Release status still comes from the CCSO transaction, FDC history, or court record, not from the photo.
Calhoun Mugshot Removal Law
Florida Statute section 901.43 governs covered commercial publishers of arrest booking photographs. It provides a registered-mail removal-request process, a ten-day removal period under its terms, and a ban on charging a removal fee. The law does not make the source agency’s image automatically confidential. It also does not guarantee that every news archive or unrelated publication falls within the statute.

The statute regulates covered publication and removal conduct; it does not erase the sheriff’s original booking record.
Sealing under section 943.059 and expunction under section 943.0585 are separate court-based processes with eligibility rules, an FDLE certificate process, and statutory exceptions. They are not automatic because a charge was dismissed or a person was released. When an official record is sealed, expunged, corrected, or removed, do not rebuild it from a stale copy. Contact the source that holds the image and provide the controlling order or correction information.
