Find Calhoun County Jail Releases

To find someone released from Calhoun County Jail, first separate a true community release from a transfer to another custodian. The Calhoun County jail roster is built to show current custody, so a missing name does not state why the person left. The sheriff's underlying release record supplies that answer. Court records can explain the legal event, while a receiving agency's system may show that custody continued elsewhere. A careful Calhoun County Jail release search therefore follows the record from booking through the actual departure and any later custody.

Calhoun Jail Release Destinations

Calhoun County Sheriff's Office operates the jail for local pretrial detainees and people serving county sentences. A person can leave for the community after bond, release on recognizance, completion of a county term, time served, dismissal, or another court order. In those cases, the CCSO booking and release transaction should identify the actual date, time, and release disposition. The Calhoun Clerk case docket can then show the bond order, dismissal, sentence, or other legal event that led to the exit.

Not every departure is freedom from custody. CCSO may deliver a person to the Florida Department of Corrections after sentencing, another county with an active warrant, the U.S. Marshals Service, or an immigration custodian. That event should be described as a transfer or release to the named custodian. The receiving system then becomes the next place to check. FDC Offender Search covers state prison custody, while a federal court record or the proper federal locator may document a federal handoff.

Important: Leaving the live Jail Log proves only that the current roster changed; it does not establish a community release or destination.

Confirm a Calhoun Jail Release

The official CCSO Kologik Jail Log is useful for checking whether a person is shown as held now. Its public history mode was disabled during the Calhoun research, and no labeled released-person archive was found. A name that no longer appears is a clue to investigate, not the release record itself. Save the person's full name, CCN or jail number, booking date, and case number before asking for the completed transaction.

Use this order when the exact outcome matters:

  1. Search the Jail Log and confirm the agency is Calhoun County Sheriff's Office, ORI FL0070000.
  2. Match the person by name, age or birth year, booking data, charge, and arresting agency.
  3. If the record is gone, ask CCSO for the actual release date and time, disposition, and destination or receiving agency.
  4. Check the Calhoun Clerk court-record portal for the order or case event behind the departure.
  5. When CCSO reports a transfer, search the receiving custodian rather than calling the event a community release.

The full county search and release-record process is also organized on the Calhoun County released inmates search. Exact agency labels matter because an arrest by Blountstown Police Department can still produce a CCSO jail booking. The arresting officer's agency and the facility holding the person answer different questions.

Calhoun Jail Release Record Request

Once a person drops from the public roster, request the existing record from the sheriff. Give the full legal name, aliases if known, date of birth when known, and an approximate booking or release date. Ask for the booking number, booking time, actual release date and time, disposition or destination code, receiving agency if transferred, charges and bond disposition, and the booking photograph. A narrow request helps the custodian locate one custody episode without having to interpret a broad question.

The CCSO Public Records page identifies Crystal Chason as custodian, lists 850-674-5049, and provides publicrecords@calhouncountyflsheriff.gov. Florida law permits inspection and copying at reasonable times, subject to exemptions. Standard paper, certification, actual duplication, or extensive-service costs may apply under section 119.07. CCSO does not publish a separate flat fee schedule or guaranteed turnaround on that page, so ask for a cost estimate and timing before a large request.

Florida's GS2 retention schedule recognizes booking records, 24-hour commitment and release lists, incarceration files, and jail dockets. Several listed record series have a minimum of one anniversary year after release, subject to audit, while the record copy of the jail docket is permanent. These are retention floors, not promises that each field will be posted online.

Note: Ask for nonexempt portions and the statute supporting any redaction instead of assuming the whole release record is unavailable.

Calhoun Jail Records Contact

The jail and sheriff share the Central Avenue East location published by CCSO and Florida's county-jail directory. The agency names Lt. Trevor Ramos as Jail Administrator. The jail administrator can address facility operations, while the public-record custodian is the better route for a copy of a completed booking or release transaction. No separate public records hours are posted, so call before an in-person visit.

Calhoun Jail Roster Limits

The live Jail Log displays current-incarceration records with names, photographs, CCN identifiers, booking and arrest times, physical descriptors, arresting agencies, charges, bond data, and days in jail. Some current charge entries can include a projected release field. That field is planning information. It must not be treated as proof that the person has left, and a blank release-time field for someone still on the roster is expected.

Calhoun's Kologik setting had history mode turned off. The software can support released-person states for other agencies, but vendor capability is not the same as Calhoun's public configuration. CCSO also links a Booking Media Report. It is an arrest and booking report, not a 24-hour or 72-hour release feed. No official CCSO jail app was identified. These limits make the underlying sheriff transaction essential after a card disappears.

Current roster
A public view of people shown as held at the time of the check.
Community release
An exit from custody to the public under the recorded legal basis.
Custodial transfer
A handoff from CCSO to another agency, with confinement continuing.
Release disposition
The field that states how or to whom the booking episode ended.

Calhoun Jail ICE Release Handoffs

A historical 2019 ICE Warrant Service Officer agreement for Calhoun County was designed around a scheduled release from criminal custody followed by transfer to ICE. Under the conditions stated in that document, immigration warrants could be served at the handoff, with continued physical holding at the CCSO facility for up to 48 hours after the transfer. The document is evidence of that agreement at the time, not proof that the same terms remain active now.

The lasting point is the meaning of release. A person may be released from county criminal authority without entering the community. If the CCSO disposition names ICE, use the official ICE Online Detainee Locator System for current immigration custody and confirm the destination. No ICE detention center was identified in Calhoun County, Florida, so the receiving facility may be elsewhere. An absent ICE result alone does not prove final release.

Note: Treat the 2019 agreement as historical context and rely on the current CCSO transaction for a specific person's destination.

Two Calhoun Release Systems

Blountstown contains both Calhoun County Jail and Calhoun Correctional Institution. Their similar location names can hide a major records difference. CCSO runs the county jail for local pretrial and county-sentence custody. FDC runs Calhoun CI for state prisoners. A county roster search cannot report state-prison movement, and an FDC record may have no entry for someone who simply bonded out of the county jail.

Use the custodian shown on the last reliable record. A CCSO booking calls for the sheriff's release transaction. An FDC DC number and prison sentence call for the statewide offender search. A move from this jail to Calhoun CI or any other FDC prison is a transfer into state custody, not a completed community release. The separate Calhoun Correctional Institution release record explains that statewide path.

Calhoun Jail Court Release Records

The Calhoun Clerk docket can explain why a release should occur. Circuit Court handles felonies, while County Court handles misdemeanors and criminal traffic matters that can carry jail time. Useful entries include a bond order, plea, dismissal, judgment and sentence, jail credit, probation order, or later violation filing. Anonymous portal access is available, but a newly filed paper or electronic document may not appear online at once.

A signed order and a physical exit are separate events. The Clerk record can show legal authority for release, yet CCSO still processes the person's property, bond conditions, transport, and departure. For an exact door-out time, pair the court event with the sheriff transaction. When a document is unavailable online, contact the Clerk for the named order rather than assuming that no court action occurred.

This two-record check also guards against mistaken identity. Match the case number, booking date, charge, and person before drawing a conclusion. A docket outcome does not by itself say where a transferred person went, just as the live roster does not state the legal reason for every disappearance.
